I just finished up my first week of the Couch to 5k running program. I feel such a sense of accomplishment and confidence. Last summer when I began this program I was a new mother to a very little baby and didn’t make it past the second day in week one. This summer is completely different though. Over the course of one week, I’ve come to actually enjoy running.
I ran at dusk last night. The sun was setting, the neighborhood was quiet. It was just me and the pavement, save for a few clicking sprinklers and dogs barking in the distance. The sky was turning shades of pink and purple and there was a nice gentle breeze to keep me cool.
I plan to run at this time every night. Tomorrow I begin the week two run and am so anxious I have to hold myself back from beginning today. I never thought I would actually enjoy running! I even found my 5k that I plan to run.
