I’m going to toot my own horn here and say that I’ve been kicking ass on my main goal this summer. I started out with going for some wonderful fast-paced power walks with my darling peach, Alea and now I’ve decided to kick it up a notch and push myself a little harder. Today I began the Couch to 5k routine!!! It certainly reminded me how out of shape I’m in, but I actually enjoyed running for once in my life. This is a fabulous program. Over a 9 week time span it gradually builds up your endurance and strength and by the end of 9 weeks you’ll be running 30 minutes straight or roughly 3 miles.
Another awesome tool I’ve been using this summer is MyFitnessPal. It’s this incredible, free, calorie counting website. I’m officially addicted. You simply enter the food you eat at each meal and it calculates your calorie intake. You are then also able to submit your cardiovascular exercise for the day and it adds those calories on for you. It’s been my lifesaver and after only 3 weeks of doing it, I’m officially able to fit into my $90 pre-Alea jeans again! Hallelujah!
Call me crazy, but as soon as my Alea bug wakes up for her nap, we’re going on a power walk into town to run a couple of errands 🙂 I just can’t stand to sit still anymore.
