If you don’t like country, then shame on you. Country music, of any kind, is the soundtrack to my summer. It’s just the perfect genre to listen to with your car windows open wide, your hair blowing in the wind and your fingers tappin’ the steering wheel.
Ok, you get it. I love country music. But, I love this specific song even more. I’ve listened to it dozens and dozens of times, but it still manages to make my eyes all misty and I may or may not break into an ugly cry if I’m feeling especially emotional. (Read: that time of the month.)
It just puts motherhood into perspective. Our babies grow up right before our eyes, and sometimes I really truly do miss the week we first brought Alea home from the hospital.
I vow to cherish every stage, every tantrum, and every cuddle session. Because, it won’t be like this for long.
Don’t forget to grab your kleenex before pressing play… Seriously… you’ll need it.
Soon to come:
-a 17 month update on Alea. Her 17 month birthday was Saturday, but I’m a little slow 🙂
-and a new banner from Jess @ IROCKSOWHAT.
I absolutely love that song. I cried the first time I heard it. You are so right about country and listening to it. I made the 9 hour drive up to Cleveland, Ohio and I listed to country on XM the whole time. It was so much fun.
I am kind iffy about country.. It really depends on the song. I love that song too 🙂
I. Love. Country. Music.
LOVE.
And that song is awesome, no truer words than those.
p.s. yay for the new banner from Jess, she made mine too! 🙂
