Summer is all about fun in the sun and getting out and enjoying the beautiful weather... especially if you live in Minnesota, like I do. When you only get 3 months out of the year to enjoy the great outdoors in weather that won't give you frost bite, you do it big! Trust me. This summer especially, I can't seem to get enough of the sun and having a little girl who loves to be outside is making this summer even more special to me.

We recently made a trip to my friend's to go swimming and I have to admit, leading up to it I was a little nervous to get in a swim suit. I had just started working out and eating healthy, but it takes time for our bodies to change and I wasn't quite sure if I was ready to show off my work-in-progress. I knew I didn't want to go out and buy a one-piece swim suit or a tankini for the occasion because for one, I've never been a one-piece or tankini kinda gal and two, when I do have a beach-ready bod I'm going to want something that shows off my hot new abs! (Hopefully!) So I chose a fun Old Navy swim suit and decided to own it!
My body isn't perfect and no one I know is 100% confident in their body-- especially in a swim suit. But, as a mother I can't just sit at home in over-sized clothes whining about how I hate my body. I needed to put on a fun, trendy swim-suit that would help me feel a little more comfortable in my skin and take my little Alea to the pool and have fun! I needed to make it about Alea and not me. I know it's likely inevitable, but I don't want her to ever feel uncomfortable in her skin. And the best way I can do that is by keeping my chin held high and having confidence in myself, my body and my imperfections.

Thank you again to Old Navy for sponsoring my post. I was compensated for this post as a member of Clever Girls Collective, but the content is all my own.
Looking good!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't quite brave enough to bare it all this year....maybe next year when I've finally reached my goal weight! In the mean time I actually found an adorable one piece at Old Navy! Even if you're more of a bikini girl, you must admist the one piece styles have improved greatly over the years!
You look great!! That's such a cute bathing suit too!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable!! Good for you.
ReplyDeleteLookin good! Love this post!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing! What are you talking about? Very cute suit.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you said about holding your chin up high and being confident in yourself no matter what. Our kids are so impressionable and I wouldn't want my little girls to not love themselves. Thanks for sharing this!
Girl you look great!! You owned that suit!
