Sunny with a Chance of Sprinkles: Toddler Food: Banana Dog

Toddler Food: Banana Dog

Banana Dog

Although Alea removed the banana and told me to "wash it off," she did eat the banana and the pb&j hot dog bun separately. See, we've been having dinner time troubles with our little miss and I'll honestly do everything in my power to get her to eat something remotely healthy. I'm so sick of just giving her chicken nuggets or a hot dog because I know she'll eat it. And sometimes she won't even eat that. She'll just repeatedly dip it in ketchup and lick the ketchup off.

Did I mention toddlers were kind of gross?

We're working on it though. And I think this here banana dog was a step in the right direction.

How do you get your picky eaters to eat?

& FYI, Roots, Wings & Other Things is having an amazing giveaway you should definitely check out!

  2. So, a few things:
    1) the banana dog is BRILLIANT.
    2) N does the same thing with ketchup.
    3) She now also eats it on her eggs which grosses me out big time.
    4) LOVE the new blog design. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
    5) Hugs. :)

  5. love the dog! and your header :)

I was a picky eater growing up so I have a soft spot for them ;)

I try to give my kids 2 or 3 things I know they will eat and then 1 thing I know they won't and have them at least try it and if they don't like it they don't have to finish...

oh and sometimes I bribe them.

  6. With Aubrey I notice that she is more willing to eat adult food than kid food. Don't get me wrong she takes down her fair share of hot dogs and mac & cheese but she also loves beans and rice with avocado, garlic hummus and ritz crackers with veggie cream cheese. There are also days where I can't get her to eat anything but pickles and pretzels.

  7. Well that was a freaking GREAT IDEA! I'm having toddler eating issues with mys on as well! One day he loves something, the next he hates it. It's kind of frustrating to cook like 7 dinners a night...kind of... ; )
