This time of the year is always a bit stressful for me, especially now this year being a full-time nursing student. It’s just hard to keep all the holiday parties and get togethers straight and find the special gift for everyone on my list while also trying to keep it together at home. We also drive about 3 and a half hours away for Christmas with Cory’s side of the family and the planning and packing involved with that gets stressful as well. And don’t even get me started on the financial aspect of it all. It’s just a lot. Sometimes with all the scheduled get togethers and financial strain, it’s hard to remember exactly what the holidays are all about.
It helped me most to look through Christmas photos from last year and see all the fun times that were had and remember too, that all the stress will pay off in the end when I see Alea’s little smile and the twinkle in her eyes on Christmas morning. There’s just something so magical about that. I remember barely sleeping the night before Christmas because I was so excited to see what was under the tree in the morning and I love that I get to relive that excitement through my daughter.
Sure, the holidays are stressful and expensive and things don’t always go as planned, but we need to sit down for a second (or two) and remember what this season is really all about. It’s about being together with our family. It’s about spending time with one another and slowing down to enjoy each other’s company. It’s about laughter and memories and maybe even treating yourself to an extra sugar cookie or slice of pie. So, this holiday season, slow down a bit. Take it all in. Capture all the memories you can with your loved ones. Take a couple more pictures than you normally would and create a fun Animoto video like mine or if you need more ideas, check out this video as well. Then share those memories with the loved ones you created those memories with & relive them throughout the year.
Animoto is a seamless, easy way to create a video of all the pictures and/or video clips you take this holiday season and beyond. What a great tool for bloggers as well to display photos and videos in a slideshow format for their readers. Not to mention, also has an iPhone and Android app so you can create videos with all the photos you take on the go. Pretty cool, right? Also, if you choose to link your Facebook account up with your Animoto account, they will automatically upload your Facebook photos for you as well. Talk about a time saver! (And isn’t that what we all need around this time of year?)
