The stresses of finals are finally in full swing. It’s a bit difficult to go over an entire semester of information, refresh my memory enough to be tested on that and then learn all of our new material we haven’t been tested on as well! It’s just a lot to handle right now on top of being a mama, trying to take care of the usual household chores and this here blog.
So, this is basically what my house is going to look like for the next week or so. I’ll have to get used to looking at an overflowing sink because when it comes to dishes or studying… studying wins. I’ll have to get used to crumbs on the floor because when it comes to crumbs or playing with Alea, playing with Alea wins. I’ll have to get used to toys scattered here and there all over the house. Because when it comes to picking up toys at the end of the day or getting sleep, the sleep most definitely wins.
It’s all about just letting things go. Realizing that the world isn’t going to end if the dishes don’t get done or the toys don’t get picked up. It’s about sorting through your priorities and realizing what matters the most and what can go un-done. I’m only one person and one person certainly can’t do it all.
And after all that complaining about the weather, I’m actually praying for rain and in-climate weather so I don’t have to feel guilty about not being able to be outside or go to the park with Cory & Alea. That’s just pathetic, isn’t it?
How do you handle it when you’ve got too much on your plate? What do you let go of?
