Yesterday I received one of the sweetest comments. It was on last Wednesday’s post about “My 3 Worst Traits” and from the sweet Kelly from Kiwi Womens Style. She recommended that this week I should focus on my “3 Best Traits” and by golly… I’m going to take her advice! Pure genius!
We really are our own worst critic. It’s so easy to focus on all the negative things and all of the things we need to improve in ourselves, that we sometimes forget all that is amazing and special about us. And there really are lots of positive aspects of ourselves that we should take some time to pause and reflect on. It almost makes me wonder if focusing on the positives will help to widdle away at some of the negatives.
2. I’m silly: I’m truly that person that’s completely oblivious that other people can see me when I’m in the car. If you pulled up next to me at a stop light, I’d more than likely be dancing and singing along to whatever country song I’m in love with at the moment. Have I looked over and gotten some awkward stares in return? Of course. Did that stop me? Absolutely not! And yes, Alea’s only 3 years old, but she’s already said “Mommy stop singing” and “Mommy stop dancing” more times than I can count.
3. I’m very friendly: I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to going somewhere new alone. For example, I recently got my CPR certification renewed and was so nervous to walk into a room of strangers. What if no one talked to me? What if no one wanted to partner up with me when it was time to test-out on the mannequin? But then I remembered, I’m a pretty friendly gal. Why don’t I introduce myself to someone and prevent all of that from happening in the first place? So, I sat down next to another friendly face and introduced myself right away! It worked as a great ice breaker and I could tell she was relieved as well. I love meeting new people and though I can be a bit awkward at times, I’m still very friendly! Let’s be friends, okay? 🙂
Now I challenge you to do the same. What are 3 of your best traits?
