Chances are, if we sat down for coffee today, I’d tell you all about all of the crazy planning that I have ahead of me. I’d let you pick your favorite flavor of coffee from my assortment of k-cups and recommend you choose one that would go well with my new dark chocolate fudge or spiced latte creamer I got at the grocery store the other day. After getting our coffee ready to go, we’d get comfy on the couch in the living room and sit down to chat. Hopefully Alea would be on her best behavior, but she’s been a bit of a spit-fire lately– so no promises!
When Cory and I got engaged a couple weeks ago, I thought that we would end up having a nice, long engagement. We have an awful lot going on in 2014. I’ll be taking my nursing boards, finding a job, we’re moving to La Crosse and hoping to start the home-building process. Just to name a few things 😉 Add that all together, dot the I’s and cross the T’s and I just assumed that we’d have a fall 2015 wedding and all would be right. It would be easier and we’d hopefully be more settled in Wisconsin by then.
However, after Cory saw me talking about this on my Facebook page, he giggled and said, “2015, huh?” And then he proceeded to tell me that he’s waited long enough to pop the question, he doesn’t want to wait any longer to marry me.
::Insert ooohs and aahhhs here::
So, let it be known! We’re officially planning our wedding for September of 2014.
I’m sure some of you have noticed me going a bit crazy on Pinterest pinning all the wedding things. Actually, I’ve gotten a couple tweets and “likes” and comments about my recent wedding pinning sprees– so I know a lot of you have noticed! I even decided to start a “secret board” so I don’t clog up your feeds too much. You’re welcome! I know it can get a little annoying to see the same types of pins over and over and over!
We’re currently waiting for the official word from our first choice venue, we’ll put I’m hoping for an outdoor wedding (even though my anxious self is screaming at me for putting so much faith in the weather) and we’re keeping our guest list as far under 100 people as possible. And being that we currently have 80 guests on our list, I don’t think that will be a problem! We already have our wedding party decided on and of course my little Alea will be a flower girl, just like she’s always wanted.
I have a lot of the other “smaller” details decided on as well, but that’s another post for another day. We’ll discuss more details as we go, I’m sure. I’ll try and not overwhelm you with collages and mood boards and everything wedding. No promises, though!
So, in essence, we’re absolutely crazy out of our minds and I can’t wait for this year!
It’s definitely going to be a year to remember for us!
What sorts of wedding planning advice would you give me?
