This is one of those things that took me forever and a half to figure out. I couldn’t for the life of me understand how to sync my Instagram to automatically update to my Facebook fan page rather than to my personal Facebook page. It drove me absolutely nuts! While I love updating my friends and family on my personal page with pictures of Alea and such, I don’t want to bombard them with pictures of my morning coffee, my favorite boots or other silly pictures us bloggers like to take and post. Many of my friends and family who read my blog also “like” my blog’s Facebook page so they don’t necessarily mind. But those who don’t “like” my Facebook page? Well, I just don’t want to bug ’em!
Open up the Instagram app on your phone and click the square in the lower right hand corner to open up your profile. Once you’re in your profile, click the wrench-looking-thing in the upper right hand corner to access your settings.
Scroll down in your setting options until you see “share settings” and click it.
Click “Share to Timeline”
Now here’s where it might get tricky. You might be redirected to Facebook for this part and will have to select your fan page on the Facebook app if it switches over to that. I didn’t have a screenshot for this part, because mine was already synced up to my Facebook page. If you have trouble with this part, don’t hesitate to tweet me or leave a comment below!
When it comes back to the Instagram app, however, you just need to select which fan page you’d like it to post to.
There you have it! It’s really that simple! In addition to not bombarding my personal page with selfies and coffee cup photos, posting my Instagram photos to my blog’s Facebook page has also helped to boost interaction on my Facebook page. You know those silly Facebook algorithms that make it impossible for all of your Facebook fans to see everything you post? They’re extremely frustrating, but syncing my Instagram updates with my fan page has definitely helped increase interaction with my Facebook fans!
