I’ve been really, really, really getting sick of this winter weather we’ve been having. Now that we’re in Wisconsin, it’s really no different than Minnesota. Why didn’t we decide to move somewhere warmer? Sheesh, we really didn’t think that move through so well 😉 There are a few things that I’ve been loving lately that have been getting me through this chilly weather either by moisturizing my dry skin, keeping Alea and I entertained, or keeping me cozy warm.
It really is all about loving all of the little things in life, isn’t it? They’re always the best.
These MukLuks have been keeping my feet oh so cozy warm. Cory’s dad’s home is almost one hundred years old and while I love the old charm and character it has, I don’t like that it’s not very well insulated. It gets a bit drafty, but putting my tootsies into these as soon as I hope out of bed in the morning has definitely made my mornings so, so much better!
My little Alea has always, always loved to paint. It’s always been a little difficult for me to get over the messiness it creates, but watercolors have been keeping her so entertained lately. And keeping a three and a half year old entertained in the middle of winter during these sub zero temps we’ve had has proven to be a bit challenging. Water colors at the kitchen table, though, have been keeping this little girl plenty happy! (And mom as well, too!)
There’s really nothing better than a fresh sheet of notebook paper, is there? I love the “new beginning” and the potential it leaves for a really good, organized to-do list. And trust me, I make plenty of them! Call my silly, but I just love the endless possibilities that a fresh, clean sheet of paper brings!
I love a good face cleanser. LOVE. It makes me look forward to washing my face at the end of a long day (which I hate to admit I don’t do enough) and a nice steamy hot shower. This Yes To Carrots Fragrance Free Exfoliating Cleanser is my new favorite. It has enough grit to scrub some of the dry skin off, but not so much you feel like you’re a snake shedding n entire layer of skin. It leaves your face feeling oh-so-smooth and silky soft, but also nice and squeaky clean!
And paired nicely with the exfoliating face wash, is this Yes To Daily Moisturizing Lotion. This stuff is the real deal and I can’t help but love it! I always get an annoying dry patch of skin right between my eyebrows and no other moisturizer has been able to cure that little dry patch– until this moisturizer came along. Is it just me? Or do I hear the Hallelujah Chorus playing? 😉
