As a lot of you may know, we had a big move to Wisconsin planned. Well, we made the big move this past weekend and have been getting all settled in and working on the tedious, but fun task of unpacking. The first order of business for me was to get Alea’s room all set up so she would have a place for all of her toys and of course have a place to sleep! However, after her space was all set up, I knew that my space was next. You’d think that by “my space” I’d mean Cory and I’s bedroom. No, not so much. I was a little more worried about my sanity and a little more worried about where I was going to get caffeinated in the morning. I had big dreams for a quaint little coffee nook complete with my favorite k-cups and of course my beloved Keurig.
I had this planned in advance as well so much so that I made a special trip to Walmart before our move to get stocked up on Gevalia k-cups (my absolute favorite)! These single serve gourmet coffee cups are the perfect addition to my new little coffee nook.
There are only a few things that your perfect coffee nook needs: coffee, some adorable mugs, your coffee maker of choice, and of course creamer but I prefer the kind that needs to be refrigerated. I really love my little pull-out k-cup drawer that I got for Christmas last year. It fits perfectly under my Keurig and it definitely helps save on counter space.
After you get your cute little coffee nook all set-up, it’s absolutely necessary to have a cup of coffee immediately afterwards. I mean, you earned it after all, right? I’m a creamer in the cup first kind of a gal, so I always put my creamer in my cup and then brew my Gevalia single serve cup. I swear up and down that it makes the coffee taste better, but I could be crazy!
Once you get your coffee poured, you can step back and admire your cute and cozy little coffee making space or you can curl up a fuzzy blanket and coffee mug in hand next to the fire place — or a pellet stove in our case. It’s just that time of the year where there’s nothing better than a hot cup of coffee, am I right?
Now that I have my little coffee space set up, I feel so much more at home in our space. There’s just something about that morning routine that makes me feel more at home. I’ve been feeling a little homesick not being in our own home, but having a space to make my morning cup of coffee (okay and maybe my afternoon cup, too) makes me feel so much better! Cheers!
What’s your favorite k-cup?
Do you put your creamer in your cup first or stir it in second?
