You know what I just realized? As of today, I GET MARRIED IN 79 DAYS. That small little 6 word thought comes with a whole mess of emotions. I’m elated, I’m nervous, I’m stressed, and I’m basically freaking the eff out. I have no idea what we were thinking when we decided that June would be a good month to get married. Our family has undergone so many changes in the past couple of months it’s absolutely enough to make your head spin!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m incredibly excited to marry the man of my dreams and love all of the details we’ve figured out thus far for our big day, but planning a wedding is no easy feat. It’s difficult and expensive and on top of it all I’m completely worried about what I’m going to look like on my wedding day. How vain, right? But a girl has her concerns. I picked out my wedding dress a couple of months ago now (boy, does time fly!) and it’s strapless. Which, I love, but I’m worried about how my arms will look and how it’ll fit around my bust. I just want to look the best that I can because this will (hopefully) be the only time I get married and the only wedding pictures I will ever own! I want everything to be perfect!
This post is sponsored by Bliss and Linqia, but all thoughts + opinions are my own!
That being said, it’s time to really get my butt in gear and get focused on firming and toning this pre-wedding body. I’ve actually lost some weight now that I’ve been working. I pack my lunch every day and besides my 30 minute lunch, I run around like a chicken with my head cut off for the other 8 hours of my day. (And I’m not at home tempted by all the food in the house). It’s a great set-up, really. Now that I (mostly) have the eating part down, I’d really like to focus on other aspects of this pre-wedding fitness and nutrition routine.
I’m the kind of person, though, who needs a “plan of action” before I set out and make big changes. I just need to know what I’m going to do and how I’m going to do it– it’s my key to success, if you will.
I’m doing okay with eating healthy so far. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I completely fall victim to Ben + Jerry’s on my occasionally Target run and it’s extremely hard to say no to the free ice cream machine at work after a stressful morning, but I’m eating so much healthier now that we’re living in Wisconsin than I did when we were living in Minnesota. The town we’re living in is so far away from everything– especially fast food. It’s no longer even a temptation for me now that I’ve broken myself of the habit. I don’t even think about running through the drive-thru on my way home from work because my food will be cold by the time we get home. Instead, I’ll grab a banana at the gas station! Yum!
It’s the water thing that I’m finding extremely difficult. I know drinking a lot of water is completely essential to our body’s well-being. I went to nursing school for cripes sake, but funny enough, I’m finding it next to impossible to get my 8 glasses a day in while being a nurse. We’re not allowed to have our water bottle on our med carts and trust me, a great deal of my day is spent passing meds from that med cart. Without having constant access to water, I’m not getting enough in throughout my day and no one likes to drink 8 glasses of water right before bed, right? I gotta get this figured out though!
This is something I’m so excited to start doing again now that the weather is nicer here in Wisconsin (knock on wood)! We’ve never owned a treadmill or had a gym membership, so I’m completely reliant on the weather outdoors to get my running in. I’ll basically be a beginner runner again after not running all winter (and then some), but I just have this urge and this desire to hit the pavement again! These running shoes that Cory bought me last summer don’t have enough miles on them and I’m so ready to change that! Couch to 5k, here I come!
Oh Jillian, she’s the girl I love to hate, but she’s also the girl I go to when I need a seriously good workout in no time flat. I’ve heard some really awesome things about her Yoga Meltdown video, so I’m super excited to give this one a shot. It probably won’t happen consistently, but on days when Cory works late and I’m not able to go for a run, I like that I have the option to pop this in the DVD player and get a good work-out in right in my living room!
I’ll just be honest here, I have cellulite and I don’t love it. There’s nothing pretty about it. Cottage cheese, dimples, whatever you want to call it, it just plain sucks. We’re getting closer and closer to shorts weather now and I’m already putting in sessions with my Bliss Lean Machine to combat the cellulite that’s made it’s home on my thighs over the years. Did you know that in areas that you have cellulite, those areas don’t see enough circulation? Using the suction power on this machine helps to increase and encourage circulation to the areas you use it on and will in turn help to lessen the cellulite in that area! Pretty cool, right? And with all that time I’ll be putting in with Jillian, I’m hoping this Fat Girl Six Pack cream will help firm up the skin on my abdomen as well. Hello abs? I’m sure hoping so!
Now here’s to hoping I can finally get my butt in gear and get to work on this pre-wedding body! Who’s going to join me?
How do you schedule in work out time? Have you ever tried any of the Bliss products before?
