Can I just be honest here for a quick sec? I never really wanted a dog. There! I said it. Cory started “dog shopping” when Alea was only 9 months old and I remember the day like it was yesterday. I was sitting in my psychology class and I received a text from Cory that said something about wanting to go look at puppies that night. Just look of course. Yeah right. We got to the puppy rescue place and I was immediately overwhelmed by little brown chocolate labs jumping up at our feet. Yeah, there was no way I was going to say no to their cute little faces!
I always get crap from Cory because I chose the puppy who was hiding in the corner while all of his brothers and sisters were jumping all over us. What can I say? I felt bad for the little runt! And of course we ended up bringing him home that night. There was just no question about it. Until we brought him home and Alea, at just 9 months old, was deathly afraid of him. She would cry anytime he came near her. I was so afraid that we had made the biggest mistake. I remember having to keep Bentley up on the couch whenever possible so Alea wouldn’t cry all day. Those first couple of weeks with our new puppy were certainly rough, to say the least. Yeah, I didn’t really want a dog from the get go, but Bentley’s turned out to be a fabulous addition to our family. I’m pretty sure that Alea wouldn’t have it any other way, now! She loves Bentley more than Cory and I do combined!
Fast forward 3 years later, we’re super excited to start the Purina One 28 day challenge with Bentley. He has occasional tummy troubles and sometimes his coat isn’t as shiny as it could be. We’re hoping that Purina One helps with both of those issues and makes our sweet puppy the best puppy he can be!
You see that last photo above? Please tell me your dog does that, too? Bentley has this horrible habit of picking up his food with his mouth (duh) and then dropping it on the floor only to eat it off the floor instead. How does that even make sense? Animals are so very strange, aren’t they?
And I’m just going to apologize in advance for sounding overly cheesy, but shopping for dog food’s a little more tolerable when I know I’m getting something amazing for our Bentley. Yes, he may drive me bananas occasionally everyday (see what I did there), but he really does deserve the best possible food for him. He deserves a pretty shiny coat and a happy tummy and I’m hoping that’s exactly what we’ll be getting now with Purina One.
