Thank you to Heart of Gold Princess for providing us with this beautiful Disney Frozen Elsa princess dress to review! All thoughts are our own.
If you were to ask Alea what she wanted to be when she grows up, 95% of the time she’ll say “a mommy.” That other 5% of the time she’ll tell you she wants to be a “mommy princess” and it just about melts my heart every single time. I like to think that maybe, just maybe, me being her mama has had some influence on her aspirations to become a mommy herself one day. Aside from that, I have no doubt that Alea’s recent obsession with all things Disney princess and of course all things Disney Frozen has led to her aspirations of one day becoming a princess!
But didn’t we all want to be princesses when we were little? I know I did! I remember watching Disney movies every chance I got. I loved dressing up in crowns and those princesses on the floats in parades? Alea just recently when to our town’s parade and while they princesses were going by on the floats and waving, she turned around to Cory and said, “See daddy? Princesses are real!” Cuter than cute, right?
And really, nothing makes her feel like more than a princess than dressing up in her Disney princess dress-up clothes. It’s one of her favorites. Sometimes, I have to do everything in my power to get her out of them so we can go to Target! The only problem I have with store-bought Disney princess dresses, though, is that they’re such horrible quality. Within a week or two, sometimes more, of purchasing them they start to fray at the hem and forget about washing them in the washing machine! It’s beyond frustrating!
With that being said, I can’t tell you how excited I was when I found out my sweet friend Gretchen from That Mama Gretchen and her mom were joining efforts to create an Etsy shop specializing in Disney princess dress-up dresses! Heart of Gold Princess boasts beautifully handmade, soft, comfortable and washable princess dresses inspired by your little girl’s favorite Disney princesses. When we received our dress in the mail, I was absolutely stunned by the quality and work that went into Alea’s new beautiful Elsa dress!
We have a lot of Disney princess dresses all tucked away in Alea’s dress-up bin, but this dress is the only one that stays out because she consistently asks to wear it. She’s Elsa’s number one fan (I’m almost sure of it), but she also prefers to wear this dress because it’s just so much softer than her others. We keep this one hanging up in her closet for easy access and I’m surprised she hasn’t requested to wear it to daycare yet! Alea recently got her snack on the front of her Elsa dress, but I just scrubbed it off with a baby wipe and popped it right in the washing machine. The snack stain came right out and the dress is still in perfect condition! Yay for not having to worry about those inevitable spills!
And nothing’s sweeter than a deal! If you’re looking to purchase an adorable handmade dress-up dress from Heart of Gold, you can also use the code SUNNY15 to get 15% off your dress! (Coupon is valid through 6/31/2014). Wouldn’t this make the perfect gift for birthdays, Christmas and heck any ol’ day!
