This post is sponsored by Huggies and the Linqia Community, however my love for these adorable wipe clutches is all my own!
This past weekend we decided to take a little road trip back to our “home” just north of the Twin Cities in Minnesota. We hadn’t been there in a while (well, Cory has since he’s been working on the house) and we thought it would be fun to throw Alea a little last minute birthday party with my family! We had a not-so-great surprise waiting for us when we got home. Our basement was wet… really, really wet. It was such a bummer. Cory and his dad have worked so incredibly hard to get our basement done and it was so close to being done. All we had left was paint, trim, doors, tile and carpet. Now? Now we wait for things to dry out so we can assess the damage and see what can be salvaged and what all we have left to do. I’m just ready to get the darn house on the market so we can start looking for a house in La Crosse! I’m certainly not the most patient person in the world and this setback doesn’t make it any better, that’s for sure.
We left Sunday with our fingers crossed and our hopes high that we’ll return in a couple of weeks to a dry(er) basement and hopefully the damage won’t be quite as bad as we originally thought. It was Mother’s Day and I was definitely a little grumpy, but I was determined to make the most out of a crappy situation.
And that we did! Snacks were eaten, giggles were heard all around, we picked up my wedding band, Alea played on her LeapPad and we listened to some music. Cory just got a new car a couple months ago when I started my job (he deserved it!) so I was constantly checking back on Alea to see if she was making a mess with her snacks or to see if she smeared finger prints all over the window yet. (Those things are just inevitable with kids!) But thank goodness I had my adorable new Clutch n’ Clean Huggies Wipes handy. After several worried minutes, I finally just tossed the package back to her and left her to clean up her messes herself. And she obviously loved it! After the soggy surprise of a wet basement– this car ride was exactly what we needed to lift our spirits!
And you better believe I made Cory make a pit-stop at Caribou for a caramel cooler. It was Mother’s Day, after all!
Road trips just tucker ya out, don’t they?
If you haven’t grabbed a couple of these Clutch n’ Clean Wipe Holders, I highly suggest you do so. I have one on each of my purses and one on Alea’s bag we take to gymnastics and daycare. It’s just so nice to have wipes handy, but the packaging is just too cute, too!
