Along with the years I’ve been a mommy to my Alea Lou, comes wisdom and knowledge that I so desperately wish I knew when she was just a tiny little thing.
ONE | Buying Diapers On-line This is the number one thing I know could have not only saved us time, but money as well. There’s so many different deals online, coupons you can use, discount codes, and more often than not you can even get free shipping. I can’t tell you how many times I was running to our local store (which jacked up the prices, of course) because we had forgotten to pick up diapers on our usual run. More specifically, Diapers.com has some really awesome deals on diapers, wipes and all the products you need to keep your baby so fresh and so clean! And speaking of coupon codes, I’ve got a special one just for you guys! COUPON CODE: Use the code WOWHUGGIES at Diapers.com to get $12 off your first purchase of any case of Huggies diapers! And remember that free-shipping I was talking about? Yeah, you can get free shipping on orders greater than $49!
TWO | Making My Own Baby Food This is something I never tried with Alea, but seriously kick myself for now. I’ve seen so many people do it and I’ve even made Alea homemade fruit + vegetable squeezies. It’s so darn easy! Making your own baby food not only saves you money, but it’s so much healthier for your little one as well. Can’t beat that!
THREE | All The Freezer Meals When you have a newborn in your house, you’re entire life and being revolves around that little bundle of joy. It’s just inevitable. It’s amazing that something so small can be so loud and demanding, isn’t it? I learned pretty quickly how hard it was to get in a shower, eat lunch or even brush my teeth. I can tell you right now that stocking up and making a bunch of freezer meals before Alea arrived would’ve saved me from lots of fast food runs and
FOUR | Coconut Oil For Everything For cooking with, for diaper rash, you name it, coconut oil does it all. I really only learned of coconut oil a couple of months ago and I’m still learning about all the amazing things you can use it for. You can even use it to pamper yourself with a face mask or hair mask. You deserve it, mama. Change out of that spit-up spotted shirt and into your comfy jammies and treat yourself!
FIVE | Never Stop Snapping Don’t get me wrong, I never stopped taking photos of Alea, but sometimes I wish I would’ve taken different kind of photos. And now that I have a DSLR I wish that we would’ve invested in a better camera from the get-go. Just the other day I was looking through photos of Cory and I and the three of us to use for various decorations at the wedding and it’s almost sad how few we had. Always take the extra time to take a family photo– always. You’ll never regret having those photos!
With all these tips, I just may be ready to try for baby number two? Maybe? 😉
Don’t forget to use that coupon code I shared with you. Diapers always make a fabulous baby shower or new baby gift! Don’t scroll up, I’ll share it with you again 😉 WOWHUGGIES for $12 off your first case of Huggies diapers >> HERE!
What mommy tricks do YOU have to share with me?
Love your tips – I’ve been making Levi’s baby food and it has saved me a TON of money – I was paying $1 a jar for organic, non-gmo stuff and now I can make a whole weeks worth for just a few dollars! Oh, and ordering diapers online = genius!
Thanks for the tips! I can’t wait to use coconut oil for a variety of things! And I am sooo tempted to buy MORE diapers right now, but I think I will wait until after the baby shower. I haven’t bought any size 1 yet… so I guess we shall see. Thanks for the code!
Great tips! My kids are older now and there are so many things I wish I would have done when they were younger!
Frozen meals & coconut oil! YES!!!
I never made my own baby food with any of the kids; I’m just not supermom enough for that task, ha ha ha! But hooray on such an amazing deal on diapers, Lord knows how many I go through!
Alea will be the sweetest big sis!
#5 is so true! Even though I don’t have kids I constantly feel like I don’t snap enough pictures of life in general. I need to be better about it!
Keeping these in mind for one day soon….
I’m so with you on the online ordering for diapers! LOVE Amazon mom!! Highly recommend it to anyone who is a new momma!
How do you make your own baby food? 🙂 Is it just a simple as tossing ingredients in a blender?
