Ever since Alea was in my tummy, I always had dreams of doing her hair. I taught myself how to french braid my own hair so that I would be able to french braid her hair and I was always practicing different hairstyles on myself to eventually try on her. Go figure that Alea would be born with little to no hair and wouldn’t grow a substantial amount of hair until after the age of two! Just my luck!
But now that she’s got a full head of hair, I’m just borderline obsessed with doing her hair and even better yet? She absolutely loves when I do her hair for her. It used to be a struggle to wrestle her into pig tails, but now I love that she sits still long enough for me to do more intricate hair styles.
Step One: Spray with leave-in conditioner after shampooing and conditioning with Head and Shoulders to get all of those pesky tangles out.
Step Two: Brush through the tangles and smooth out hair.
Step Three: Start by twisting bangs in the front and gradually add hair and twist the hair until twisted to the crown.
Step Four: Using a bobby pin, secure twist.
Step Five: Pull hair back into a ponytail at the crown of the head and gather the hair into a messy bun and secure with hair binder.
And there you have it! It’s a very, very easy hairstyle that’s easy to just toss-up and go. It’s perfect for our early mornings when I have to wake Alea up for daycare at 5:30am and we have to be out the door by 5:45am. Yes, I let her sleep in as long as possible! But because of this, I need something that’s super easy, yet still looks adorable and put together. I mean, anything’s really better than her messy bed-head, but this style is especially cute, don’t you think?
I recently started using Head and Shoulders shampoo and conditioner to help with some dry, flaky scalp I got after leaving my box hair-dye on a little too long. It really dried out my scalp and I was dealing with some not so welcome white flakes on my freshly darkened hair. They stood out like a sore thumb! So embarrassing! So thankful to this delicious green apple scented Head and Shoulders for conditioning and hydrating my scalp and getting rid of those embarrassing flakes!
