And those 4 little words in that title above immediately brought tears to my eyes. It’s still so hard to imagine and it almost doesn’t feel real. It’s made for an impossibly easy transition, being that Alea goes to preschool where she also goes to daycare. So when I drop her off, on the days that I don’t work, it almost feels as though I’m just dropping her off at daycare in a different classroom. And on the days I do work, she walks over to her preschool classroom with the other preschoolers in her daycare class. It’s absolutely seamless and I absolutely love how easy this whole transition as been for all of this– even though it makes it seem a little surreal.
My little girl is growing up right before my very eyes. And it’s been a while since we dove into Miss Alea’s favorite things. It’s about time for an update, wouldn’t you say?
Alea’s Current Favorites:
Color: Red. And it’s stayed red for months and months now. That’s pretty impressive!
Song: “Girl in a Country Song” — she knows every word!
TV show: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Movie: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The old one with Gene Wilder. She’ll tell you that “the new one is weird. Because Johnny Depp is kind of creepy.”
Future Career: Alea wants to be a “mommy” when she grows up.
Flavor of Ice Cream: Vanilla with sprinkles
Letter of the Alphabet: A for Alea!
Book: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Best friend: Amelia and Serenity
Drink: Milk and chocolate milk and strawberry milk.
Would you believe me if I told you that I didn’t even cry on Alea’s first day of preschool? Honest! Not even one tear was shed from any of us. It was a pretty successful day. Now a couple weeks in and Alea’s absolutely loving it. She has her first field trip coming up, she’s learning to color in the lines really well, she’s telling me all about making “good choices” and she’s a complete fish in swimming lessons. Having a four year old is just too much fun!
