I meant for this post to go live on Friday, but it looks like it never published. Shoot! Oh well, gives me something to hit “publish” on today, right? Always look at the bright side! I hope you are all having a beautiful start to your week– can you believe that come Wednesday it will be October? Not that I haven’t been dreaming about everything pumpkin-flavored already, but October makes me want pumpkin everything even more! Hello sweaters, scarves and brown boots! Fall fashion, flavor and colors are just my absolute favorite!
If you’ve been reading along for a while, you know that we moved to Wisconsin in February. However, when we moved, we moved in with Cory’s dad and left our house (that we own) to be finished in Minnesota. It’s been quite the sacrifice, but we’re so thankful that Cory’s dad is willing to put up with us invading his space for almost seven months now. So darn grateful. It’s been a busy seven months, too. With our wedding this past June, birthday parties, studying for my NCLEX, getting my first nursing job, and traveling back and forth between here and Minnesota to work on our house when we can.
It’s been a struggle, I’m not going to lie. It’s been hard.
But, now seven months later, we’re happy to announce that our house is finally on the market. What? It’s a miracle! A couple of weeks ago, Cory took the entire week off of work to work on the house with the assistance of a couple of contractors. We finally realized that if we were going to get our basement completed, the entire house painted, and on the market anytime soon we were going to have to enlist some hired help. It was a decent chunk of change, but 110% worth it, if you ask me!
After getting a lot done with the assistance of the contractors, there was still a lot of work left to be done on our house. We had flooring to finish in the basement, painting to do, trim to hang, grouting, and a sink and toilet to install. Yeah, a lot. So this past weekend we all made the trek back to our house in MN to get to work. We worked from 9am till 2am on Saturday/Sunday and worked until 10:45pm on Sunday when we finally got things packed up to head back to Wisconsin. It was rough!
But we got everything painted, cleaned, and almost finished. It’s so close, so so so close. So we decided that it wouldn’t hurt to just get it on the market and get some eyes on it. Cory’s headed back this weekend to get some more work done and I’m guessing we’ll be back again on my next weekend off, but you guys. It feels SO good.
It feels like we’re finally moving ahead and we’re just that much closer to moving out of Cory’s dad’s house. We already have our eye on a couple homes in the area and I can’t wait to find a realtor and check them out in person.
Can’t wait to continue sharing this journey with you all 🙂
