I have a silly confession to make. I’ve stolen approximately 5 Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups from Alea’s trick-or-treat bucket. Gosh, I feel about a million times better now that I’ve gotten that off of my chest. The guilt was really starting to wear on me. What’s funnier yet? I guess I technically haven’t “stolen” them, but more so tricked her into giving them to me. You see, when she asks me, “Mommy can I have a treat from my Halloween candy?” 800 times a day, I can’t help but throw in a little bribe. “Sure honey, but only if mommy gets to pick out a treat, too!” See… it’s genius. You should try it.
All that to say, I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon this delicious container of Reese’s spread at Walmart the other day. I swear to you as I walked down the aisle, it nearly floated off of the shelf into my arms and Cory just rolled his eyes at my squeals of excitement.
001. 1-2 granny smith apples
002. Reese’s Spreads
003. Crushed up almonds
This is such an easy snack idea that I feel silly writing out a recipe for it, but if you’re anything like me then you’ll appreciate the attention to detail. I know I need a step-by-step explanation for all kinds of things… I hope I’m not the only one!
001. Remove the core of the apple while leaving the rest of the apple intact. If you’re like me and need a tutorial on how in the heck to do this, I suggest this one.
002. Spread Reese’s spreads on each apple slice.
003. Sprinkle with crushed up almonds and either serve open faced or as a sandwich.
Simple and delicious. Snacking just doesn’t get much better than that. I love that the Reese’s Spreads is inspired by the traditional Reese’s peanut butter cup and it tastes just like them! Have you ever tried peanut butter on your pancakes? If that’s your thang, then I highly suggest trying this Reese’s spreads on your pancakes as well. It will seriously blow your mind.
Also, check your local Walmart! Reese’s is hosting a fun event called AppleFest on November 13th – 16th. They’ll be providing samples of Reese’s spreads paired with apples so you can see just what I’m talking about. Check here to see if your store is participating!
