I might be living vicariously through my little Alea when it comes to toys as of late. I love seeking out different toys that remind me of the toys that I had growing up and I love when she loves those toys as well. I know there’s one toy on her Christmas list this year that I already have hiding in the basement because I was just too excited about it! I really don’t know who’s going to be more excited about that present on Christmas morning. Her or me. I bet you could take a guess though 😉
I’ve really got to thinking about different toys that I had when I was little, though. You know, the toys that I want to see if my parents still have because I would love to pass them on to Alea. I’ve given her a box of my Barbies from when I was little, but there’s one toy in particular that really sums up my childhood. Do you remember that Little Tikes doll house? The one with the blue roof, driveway and little red light hanging in the middle?
That doll house was my favorite toy ever. And guess what? My parents got rid of it years ago! I can’t even begin to tell you how heartbreaking that is! Especially now that I see it going for $300 on eBay! Can you believe that? And we thought Beanie Babies were going to be the big seller when we grew up. No sirree! Now I don’t know if I would keep the doll house for Alea to play with or if I’d keep it boxed up and sell it later on to pay for her college education!
Side note: If any of you have this little house and are willing to part with it, PLEASE let me know. But no, I won’t be able to pay you $300 for it. (I wish I could!) Don’t even try!
