I have a silly little confession to make. We lived without an oven and stove for 10 months. And I’m not even lying. While living with Cory’s dad, his oven and stove wasn’t in working order and therefore we mainly lived off meals you could throw in a skillet or the microwave. I can’t even tell you how many times I wanted to just bake a batch of cookies just for baking a batch of cookies and I yearned for a yummy casserole. It probably sounds silly, but you go without an oven or a stove for 10 months and I bet you’ll feel similarly! Now that we’ve moved out and into a “for now” rental home (pictures and room reveals to come!) I’ve been dreaming of baking up the perfect pot pie. I haven’t really had time to make one by scratch– but thank goodness Marie Callender’s tastes like homemade!
I even put together a little tossed salad to go with it– complete with my lemon parmesan dressing. You’ve GOT to try it! It’s not a request… it’s a demand!
Lemon Oil Dressing Recipe:
001. 2 drops Lemon essential oil
002. 2 cups Olive oil
001. Combine olive oil and lemon essential oils in a bowl and whisk until mixed thoroughly.
002. Drizzle over salad of your choice.
003. Store in a mason jar and keep refrigerated.
Marie Callender’s chicken pot pie makes the perfect family dinner and paired with the salad, it made the perfect meal for one of our first family meals in our house. I was actually extremely impressed with the true to homemade pot pie taste of Marie Callender’s and I can promise you, it’ll be on our meal rotation. I love that it’s just one of those meals you can toss in the oven and have a delicious meal table-ready in no time at all. It’s perfect for those busy weeknights or even for the weekends when you just don’t feel like cooking. You know what I mean!
