I don’t know about you, but when it comes to the big game, I always think about food before football. I know I can’t be alone in that. I’ve just never been the biggest football fan. It’s such a complicated game with so many complicated rules that it’s a little hard for me to follow along. I cheer when they cheer, ya know? It’s just one of those things! I distract myself from the silly flags and my confusion between offense and defense with my love for all things food! And being that the big game is just around the corner, believe it or not, now is as good of time as any to start thinking about what you’ll be making for game time grub.
We’re centering our football game snacks around the typical football foods, but adding some new fun ones as well. It’s not every year that we serve fries, but these Alexia Sweet Potato fries in both the regular and spicy varieties are going to be amazing! I even thought it would be fun to create some delicious, creamy fry sauce to go with them!
Sweet Honey Mustard Sauce:
001. 1 container of honey mustard
002. 1/2 cup brown sugar
003. 1 tsp raw honey
001. Combine all three ingredients in a bowl and stir until thoroughly mixed.
002. Heat in microwave for 30-45 seconds to melt brown sugar.
003. Serve with Alexia Sweet Potato fries (found at Walmart) and enjoy!
Zesty Dilly Ranch Sauce:
001. 1/2 cup of dill, chopped
002. 1 small bottle of ranch dressing
003. 1 tsp pepper
001. Combine ingredients in a bowl and stir until thoroughly mixed.
002. Serve with Alexia Sweet Potato fries (found at Walmart) and enjoy!
I for one, even though I’m not all that into football, am super excited for all of the food that comes with it! I’m hoping that this year we’ll be spending it with a group of family– maybe we’ll even have friends and family over to our new place for the big game– but anything is better than moving on the day of the big game like we did last year! Either way, no matter what our plans are, I can’t wait to make these yummy fry sauces and serve them with these delicious sweet potato fries! They’re to yummy for words!
What are you making for the big game?
