How often do you hear your little one ask for a snack during the day? If I had to guess, I’d say it’s a lot. Trust me, I experience the same question frequently throughout my day as well and I always feel like I’m pulling tricks out of my hat trying to think of something besides the usual boring snack. You know what I mean? not that Alea complains, but sometimes I just want to serve her something with a little more substance and something a little more exciting!
We’re big fans of yogurt and graham crackers in this house. BIG fans! They’re actually my “go-to” snack when that “Mom, can I have a snack?” question is asked dozens of times throughout my day. Typically, I’d just grab a couple crackers for one snack and toss some yogurt in a bowl for another snack, but I decided why not combine these two to make a deliciously scrumptious, out-of-the-ordinary snack? Thankfully we had some yummy Honey Maid Go Bites on hand– perfect for dipping!
1. 1 container Vanilla Greek Yogurt
2. 1/4 cup Honey
3. 1/2 cup Peanut Butter
4. 1 tsp Cinnamon
1. Scoop 1 container of Greek yogurt into a large mixing bowl.
2. Add honey, peanut butter and cinnamon yogurt.
3. Mix with a mixer and mix until all ingredients are dispersed evenly.
4. Serve or refrigerate immediately.
Alea was all kinds of excited when I plopped this yummy Greek Yogurt Dip and the Honey Maid Go Bites in front of her rather than her usual boring snack. I didn’t even groan when I heard the “Hey mom? Can I please have a snack?” question yelled at me from the other room. I was ready and totally excited to serve up this delicious and easy recipe.
After Alea had her fill, I just stored the extra in a container in the fridge so we have more on hand for, you know, 10 minutes from now when she’ll be begging for another snack. Thankfully Honey Maid Go Bites are packed with 7 grams of whole grains and 5 grams of protein– which equal out to be about 15% of the recommended daily value. (And these have no high-fructose corn syrup or artificial dyes!) Add in this protein-packed Greek yogurt dip and you’ve got a snack that’ll keep them fuller, longer and you’ll hear less of that “Mom, can I have a snack?” question!
