If you can’t tell, I’ve become a little obsessed with essential oils lately. They’ve become a huge part of my life and I’m constantly amazed at everything those little bottles of goodness have done for my family. It’s been incredible to see how they’ve been helping us sleep, helping me keep my snacking under control, helping with this horrible cold and flu season, and helping calm my stress levels. I’m absolutely amazed every single day!
The obsession as continued to grow and I’ve even started making a few things with my oils for my family to use. I wanted to start using oils in Alea’s bath and that’s the main reason I threw together these bath salts, but I also wanted to use them myself, too. I don’t get a nice relaxing candle-lit bath all too often, but I was hoping these bath salts would make it more of a priority!
What You Need:
1. Sea Salt
2. Epsom salts
How to Make:
1. Combine 1 cup of sea salt, 1 cup of epsom salts, 1/2 teaspoon of lavender essential oil, 1/2 teaspoon of Peace & Calming essential oil and 4 drops of peppermint essential oil in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly.
2. Store in a mason jar for safe and decorative keeping.
3. Scoop into a hot bath and relax + unwind. (You deserve it!)
I’ve loved using these bath salts for Alea in the tub before bedtime. They’re perfect for relaxing her and calming her down at the end of the day before bedtime. Truly. I’ve noticed her sleeping better and winding down a little quicker than usual. Is it just me or does everyones kid start bouncing off the wall right before bedtime. Agh, that drives me crazy!
And since I’ve made these I’ve actually poured myself a couple of baths! I love that it also helps me relax and de-stress at the end of the day. Lighting a few candles and taking the time to purposefully take care of myself has been huge. It sounds so silly that these oils and these bath salts have helped me do that, but it’s so true. If your a mama or just need some time to yourself, you’ve gotta give these relaxing bath salts a try!
How do you relax and unwind?
