It’s hard to believe that it’s already been over 7 months since Cory and I got married. June 28th feels like just yesterday. It was such a beautiful day. We really lucked out and had the most incredible weather up until about 9pm when I storm settled in. But other than that little hiccup, the day and night when off without a hitch. We were blessed to be surrounded with family and friends and oh my goodness– I still can’t believe it’s over.
Not only were we blessed with the presence of our friends and family, but we were also blessed with an amazing wedding photographer. I can’t sing Chris’s (Landon Michael Photography) praises enough. He did an absolutely amazing job on all of our photos and I know I’ll be swooning over them for years and years to come.
one: Instant gratification: Plain and simple. You take the photo, it prints out, you let it develop and that’s all she wrote.
two: Add to the Decor: Our photographer took all of these photos with is FujiFilm Instax and left them for guests to view on the table for gifts, cards, and our guestbook. It was just the perfect addition and added such a sweet personal touch.
three: The possibilities are endless. You could also use them for your guestbook, wedding favors, or even for the seating chart! What genius ideas!
I can’t tell you how thankful I am for all of these memories + these gorgeous Instax photos are no exception. I love the retro, vintage feel and the fact that they’re our only hard-copy of our wedding photos so far, makes them even more special. I should really get wedding photos printed, shouldn’t I? Sheesh!
Until then, I need to figure out what I want to do with these. Make a Instax photo album? A smash book? A scrap book? An Instax gallery wall? The possibilities are endless! I better get to brainstorming + I’ll report back with what I’ve decided to do.
What would you do with all of these Instax photos?
SO very cool! I like instant gratification too! I would make a framed collage with those!
I like photos like that. It is way more fun and exciting than having to get film developed/edited.
A friend of mine had a similar idea for her wedding. They had cameras at each table and they asked guests to take candid photos. Not only did the guests have a lot of fun, the happy couple were ale to see things at the reception they would have otherwise missed.
How cool! I love photos so I am all about anything having to do with them! We have no photos or anything from our wedding as it was a little living room thing. When we renew our vows I would love to do this! I would make books and keep them for my kids!
The would be so fun to have! My wedding photographer was pretty blah– wish I could go back and have a better photographer.
Hi Chels, so did your photographer switch and use a polaroid camera throughout the day> as well as his “real” camera? Did you know he was going to be doing that? Where do you think you get that kind of camera??? Thanks! Beth
Yes, I love this idea! I’d definitely do a pretty scrapbook with them 🙂
That is so awesome. You should make a book with them for sure.
Such a cute idea
So cute! We had a photo booth with insta photos at our wedding, loved them!
How pretty! My aunt’s wedding actually had professional photographers and Polaroid cameras on the side for fun. The photos turned out so amazing and pretty! I think that instax photos are just so vintage, trendy and they really capture the moment so well. Thanks for sharing on why we should use Polaroid cameras more!
I love this idea. I’m trying to get into photography and I will have to take this idea into consideration if I ever shoot a wedding. It looks like you had some lovely pictures!
I love instax photos but we didn’t have instax cameras when we tied the knot! It is wonderful that you guys used them on your special day. 🙂
I have always wanted one of these camera’s! Granted, I love love LOVE my DSLR but one of these could be so much fun for me! It would just be great to have on hand and capture those amazing memories. I love that he used it at the wedding! That is awesome and it really adds creative touch to your wedding! Thank you so much for sharing!!
Two words: gallery wall! Maybe with a cute quote on wood or something?
We had the mini polaroid photos at our wedding. They were intended to be for the guestbook but not many guests took a photo to put in the guestbook, but we ended up with tons of pics when people started dancing. I was so glad we had them, then when the day is over you have some great photos to look at while you are waiting for your professional photographs. I think I am going to layer them together in the shape of a heart and frame it.
I think that’s a great idea for a wedding or any major event like a family reunion or a milestone birthday. It’s really neat to see the pictures as they’re happening. I think another great twist to that would be leaving cameras on the table and letting guests take pictures as well. That way you’re adding in a new perspective.
Fun! Those will be awesome to look through in years to come.
Ahhhh I never even thought of having Polaroids at my wedding! That would of been a pretty chic idea since I had my wedding reception at the Eiffel tower in Vegas. The pictures via Polaroid would of been amazing!
This is pretty cool and I completely agree with all these awesome reasons for having them at your wedding. I am currently planning a baby shower and I would LOVE to have these as well. I agree there is something super cool about the instant gratification. Plus, we rarely ever print our pictures these days.
You took some lovely photos for your wedding. I do like being able to have that instant gratification with images, and like you said, the vintage feel to the pics are very attractive. I might have chosen to frame the images and decorate a staircase, hallway or entryway.
What a great idea! I’ve been to a lot of weddings but have never seen this done before. I love the idea of using them as wedding favors … letting guests take one home with them. All three of our daughters are already married, but I’ll keep this idea in the back of my mind for friends and family.
This is such a great idea for a wedding. I love the vintage look to the pictures, they look so timeless and so different from the usual wedding photography you see everywhere. I have polaroids like this hung on a string in my room, it’s such a lovely sentiment to have.
Oh my gosh yes!!! I remember wanting nothing more than to see pictures the day after the wedding! So smart!
Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could
add to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates.
I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this.
Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I
look forward to your new updates.
Ah!! I love this!! I have one on my wish list! I can’t wait to get it! 🙂
