I have this thing about taking pictures. I know I’m not the only mom that’s a compulsive photo taker, but I’m always snapping photos of Alea. It doesn’t matter if we’re just at the park or if it’s her 5th birthday party. I just never want to forget a moment and I want to make sure I’ve captured as many of her moments as possible so we always have those photos to look back on. The digital photography age has made that so incredibly easy, too, and I’m forever thankful for my camera and my camera phone. I love that we always have access to a camera and we never do have to miss the perfect photo opportunity.
However, the one thing about digital photography is keeping track of all those photos you take. We have thousands and thousands of photos of Alea from her very first days and months all the way up until the age of 5 now. The photos from when she was a baby are well organized on our external hard drive, but it’s all the current photos we’ve had difficulty keeping track of. Between all of our devices, it just seems like I never know where a certain picture is at any given time.
Thankfully, there’s a solution to this annoying little problem.
The Lyve app has absolutely helped us get our photos organized! Not only does it organize your photos, but your videos as well. And you no longer have to purchase a Lyve device in order to use the Lyve app anymore, so anyone can use this free app.
Even though you don’t need the device, to utilize the app anymore, the device is still pretty nifty to have around. It can hold 1 terabyte of your most memorable and favorite photos securely and safely. It’s really a great piece of mind to know that all of those precious memories are safe and sound on your Lyve device and they’re easily accessible as well. I have all of our digital wedding photos on my Lyve device!

How do you keep your photos organized?
Growing up, my mother would take videos and photos of our everyday lives, special occasions and holidays. I rarely watched the videos, but then I REALLY didn’t watch them when her video camera died when I was fifteen. They were all on 8mm little tapes, which decay over time and become choppy and faded. A couple years ago, I realized how bad this might turn out for our memories! So I searched and searched for an affordable option to transfer all these videos to a computer, a DVD.. I managed to figure it out, but our memories are no longer crisp, happy videos. I’ve become OCD about storage and properly filing my photos and videos, but I still have yet to find a proper solution! So far, I’ve got copies on several computers, some files on one folder, some files on another computer.. it’s tough. I need something.
Photos and videos are my most valued things, next to memories I keep in my mind.
I’ve never heard of Lyve, but it seems so much easier to use than the native iPhoto program. Definitely looking further into it, thanks for the great tip!
This sounds awesome! Especially with baby #2 on the way. Between my husband and I we have tons of photos but I am HORRIBLE about printing them out!
Holy Cow that is the coolest device! Love the LCD touchscreen. Photos are extremely important to me. The photos of my kids and all their milestones are the most important. Plus just family photos in general capturing moments with loved ones!

What a cool device! I have so many photos and I would be devastated if I ever lost them!
What a great idea! I am always so worried about losing all of these digital files, I would love to know they are backed up and safe instantly.
Our wedding photos are priceless to me!
OMG Love this!!
My wedding photos are pretty high up on the list. But, I have every picture since 2004 stored on an old (like, REALLY old) harddrive and I’m needing an updated one. I think all 50,000 photos are special, Ha!
The photos of my kids when they were younger! I lost a lot of them and thankfully was able to resave them from Myspace, Facebook & my sisters sending me the ones they have. I still have lost quite a few of them but am thankful for the ones I was able to save.
baby pics of my now teens
The photo’s that mean the most to me are the big group family photo’s during the holidays. I really love those, cause it is a time the whole family comes together.
Birth photos – my favorite by far 🙂
My definite fave photos have to be the selfies my siblings take on my phone cause they make the funniest faces! I’m not big on taking photos of myself but I love to snap pictures of amazing looking food and my boyfriend who can be a bit camera shy, but that’s what makes the few pictures I do have all the more precious 😉
Uhh.. I don’t. I have pictures scattered on external hard drives, flash drives and “the cloud”..
And my favorite photo.. Um, probably ones from China..
Every. Single. Photo of my son…
Every photo means SO much to me!! But, mostly pictures of my kids as babies… I never want to forget their tiny little features. <3
Photos of my son’s first B-day mean the most to me.
photos of my newborn nephew today!!
Great site. I love several pictures but one of my favorites is a pic of me and my husband when we were teens.
Our Christmas family vacation to Canada mean the most to me.
The photos I have with my mom who has now passed, and with my daughter mean the most to me.
Photos of my kids mean a lot to me. I love going through them as they get older.
The photos that mean that most to me are definitely when my kids were small as they grow up so fast; especially the ones of my son in the NICU and honestly those days seem like a blur.
Oh this is perfect, much better than what iPhone offers! Looking into it now!
