Oh my goodness sakes alive. My “long” weeks at work are always a struggle. I feel like such a diva even whining about that, but working 5 days straight is straight-up exhausting. Every other week I work 4 days, which is just oh so much more manageable.
Last week Alea finished preschool! I’m still in denial that she’s really going to be going to kindergarten come September even if she’s already signed-up and ready to go. I’ll just be a wreck once that day comes. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
That’s the basics, but here’s what I’m doing currently…
Thinking: About building a house. Nothing big or anything, right? I kid. That’s our big, future plan we have on the horizon and something Cory and I have been talking more and more about lately. We’re scoping out some land possibilities and discussing all the nitty-gritty details. We may have even looked at some house plans, but I’ll keep you all in the loop about that.
Drinking: Coffee. What else? But honestly, I’m considering backing off a bit on the caffeine. I’ll probably tell you “jk” in about a week. So I wouldn’t be too concerned if I were you.
Listening to: The bubbling of the diffuser next to me and the news playing on the TV in the background. It’s almost an oxymoron of sounds. The bubbling of the diffuser is so relaxing as are the essential oils I’m diffusing and then on the other end of the spectrum, the news is discussing the perils of our country and our world today. It’s unbelievable how one single moment can be full of so many different emotions and feelings, isn’t it?
Reading: “We are Called to Rise” by Laura McBride. I can’t recommend this book enough. I read most of the book while on the plane ride to Los Angeles, California a couple of weeks ago and I’m getting so close to finishing it. It’s about three lives from different backgrounds, ethnicities and different experiences, but all with roots in Las Vegas and how their lives collide. It’s a page turner, my friends. You’ve got to read it!
Thankful for: My sweet husband who took all of the above photos for me. I think he just *might* actually enjoy taking photos for me for this here blog. That being said, I think there may be more to come. I was always the one who wondered how in the world these women bloggers got their husbands to take photos for them for their blogs. Never did I think of just asking! (And batting my eyelashes at him…)
Excited about: The fact that Orange is the New Black debuts on Netflix today. What What! Yeah, I’ll just be over here binge-watching the entire series and kissing any productivity I thought was going to go on this weekend good-bye.
What do you have going on currently?
