We (and when I say we, I mean Cory) recently started a fun little nightly family tradition. I’ll admit to you right now that it hasn’t been an every single night thing, because we’ve had things that have come up, but we’re trying our best to keep it going when we’re able. These walks are just about my favorite thing, though, and I’m so glad that we decided to start them.
There’s just something so relaxing about a walk around the neighborhood while the sun is just starting to set. It’s nothing long or strenuous, but it’s so calming to just hold my little girls hand and ask her about her day. It’s intentional family time that we so desperately need at the end of a long day of work and daycare! Cory even went as far as to set an alarm on his phone so we don’t get too busy at the end of the night and forget. As soon as that 7:15pm alarm goes off, we’re all getting our shoes on, getting Bentley on his leash and we’re out the door and ready for our little family adventure.
We decided to start out our nightly walk with a little bit of a fun photoshoot. I love documenting these moments and of course, Cory has found a new found love for being behind the camera. I have to admit, he’s getting pretty good at taking photos! (And now his ego is sky high if he’s reading this post right now. Hi, honey!) The love and silliness he captured in these photos just warms my heart. It completely sums up Alea and her love for hugs and kisses– and my love for a delicious iced drink!
And to make this walk just a little bit more special for mama, I grabbed myself a Crafted Press Iced Coffee (that they steep for 12 hours– wow!) from Caribou Coffee. Mmmm mmmm good! It’s a bold iced coffee with a touch of sweetness from real sugar. I made mine even better with a pump of coconut flavoring– try it, I promise it’s incredible!
I was a little tuckered out and thinking *maybe* this nightly walk thing wasn’t going to happen, but thanks to the delicious Iced Crafted Press Coffee from Caribou Coffee, it did!
What activities would your 12-hour adventure include?
