This is going to sound cliche, but I really can’t believe that Alea is going to kindergarten in just a few short weeks. I can’t believe that she’s even old enough to go off to school for an entire day. All day everyday. I could have sworn she was just jumping her in her jumper-roo saying “mama” for the first time and toddling around the kitchen taking her very first steps.
It was a big, huge reminder when we decided to go back-to-school shopping, just how much she’s grown up. Gone are the days when I’m allowed to pick out all of her clothes without a fuss and gone are the days when Alea cares very little about the clothes that she wears. I personally think this is starting a wee bit early, being we’re only going into kindergarten, but she’s become pretty opinionated and has already started to develop her own sense of style.
After an afternoon at Carters, it’s officially official. Alea’s sense of style is all her own, but at least it’s appropriate and mom and dad approved! And at least it’s pretty cute, too! I’m so thankful that Carters is one place we can go where I know that all of the clothes will be appropriate in not only style, but also have appropriate sayings and graphics on them as well. Letting her practice her own sense of style in a store that helps us maintain a certain level of modesty and appropriateness, makes us all happy.
And it makes back-to-school shopping that much easier, too!
