Alea started KINDERGARTEN on Tuesday and I’m still over hear pinching the skin on my arm and trying to pick my jaw up off of the floor. I have absolutely no idea how we got to this point and I’m still in disbelief that my sweet little baby girl is officially in school full-time. I even asked Cory this as we walked out of her classroom after dropping her off at school together, “When did we become parents to a kindergartener?” His response was, “Well, five years went by!” They didn’t just “go” by though, my friends, those five years flew right by!
The last thing I remember is when I was watching Alea toddle across the kitchen floor taking her very first steps. Then I blinked. And here we are.
Even though we were in a bit of a hurry to get to school on the first day, I just had to take a few first day of school photos and I asked her the following questions. Just for the sake of memories, I had to document and share here!
What do you want to be when you grow up?: A singer on The Voice
What’s your favorite color?: Red
What are you most excited for about Kindergarten?: Recess!
Lots of changes in our little family of three during this time of transition from preschool to kindergarten. Alea is even starting a new daycare! I’m happy to report that Alea’s taking in all of this change quite well and adjusting wonderfully. Me on the other hand? I’ve never been one to do well with change. I miss our little conversations on the way to daycare in the morning and I miss being part of her morning routine, but I’ll adjust. Alea’s always been so flexible and go-with-the flow.
I think I could learn a thing or two from her!
