You guys, I seriously have a kindergartener. Is this real life? If you missed yesterday’s post, you’ve gotta check it out. Alea was beyond excited to start kindergarten and I may have tried to bribe her to put it off for another year. I knew deep down that she would do great, but I just had all of these silly little worries making me a bit nervous for this big transition.
You’ve probably heard me say this 100 times, but Alea is a very, very picky eater. She doesn’t like a whole lot, so I knew I would have to pack her lunch for her. Which is perfectly fine, because a lot of the options they have for school lunches these days aren’t all that appealing or healthy. (However, Italian Dunkers? Does anyone remember those? YES PLEASE!)
To make our Kindergarten transition a little bit easier (on the both of us), I’ve decided that lunch love notes are going to be a consistent thing around our home. I get the comfort of knowing that I’m a little bit part of her lunchtime and she gets the comfort of knowing mommy and daddy love her just as much, even when she’s away at school.
Fun bento-style lunch boxes and lunch box letters have gotten a bad wrap lately, but I think that’s just plain silly! Why not have a little fun with lunch time?
If even just on a quick little post-it note or maybe on some printable or book you found on-line. No matter how you write out your lunch love letters or what you write them on, I’m almost positive it’ll make you and your little both feel better about this year’s back-to-school transition.
In addition to lunch love letters, the food you put inside of your child’s lunch box is important too, of course. I’ve been brain-storming school lunch ideas for almost the entire summer, but one thing I’m more than happy to include in each lunch are the Del Monte Fruit & Veggie Fusion cups. They’re delicious, come in three different flavors and make your kids lunch just a little bit healthier with fruits and veggies! Moms and dads alike will be rejoicing! These will be available at your local Walmart starting September 8th.
Share your kid’s super moments with Del Monte Fruit & Veggie Fusion and enter in the Share the Super Sweeps that runs from 8/10/15 – 9/18/15 and you could win prizes from Del Monte!
How do you pack lunch for your littles?
Do you believe in lunch love notes, too?
