If you all have been following along on social media, I have been trying to decrease my caffeine intake as of late. I’ve been doing a lot of personal research after listening to a very educational podcast on how the things we eat/drink/etc. affect our hormones and our bodies. It’s pretty eye-opening. I know full-well that I’m not the best at making drastic, 180 degree changes, so I’m trying to take baby steps with this process. That first step being decreasing my coffee intake.
And after drinking coffee every morning for 6 or 7 years now, that’s no easy feat! To slowly wean myself off of the coffee addition, I’ve began drinking tea every morning instead. Hot tea is great and all, but I’ve been craving something cold and something more on the sweeter side. Then I remembered back to my childhood when my parent’s would make Sun Tea out on the front step and add some sugar and voila! We had a whole pitcher of sweet tea reading for drinking.
This sun tea is even better than the sweet sun tea my parents would make when I was younger, though, if you ask me! It’s made in just two hours out in the sun and after adding a 1 packet of Born Sweet® Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener to each glass—it’s the perfect sweet, cold, and refreshing drink to wake-up with!
1. 1-2 packets of Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener (Grab your free sample HERE!)
2. 1 bag of Green Tea for iced tea
3. 1 bag of Passionfruit tea for iced tea
4. Cold water
It also helps to have a Sun Tea maker, but this is not a requirement. I bought mine off of Amazon.
How to Make:
1. Add cool water to Sun Tea pitcher or glass pitcher. (If using a sun tea pitcher, only fill 1” below the motor to avoid damage.)
2. Add your tea to the water and give it a gentle stir.
3. Sit out in the sun for 2 hours.
4. Serve over ice, add lemons if you please, and a sprinkle of Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener to add a little extra sweetness.
Once you’ve helped yourself to a glass as a reward for all of the “hard work” and “effort” you put forth to make your tea, remove the tea bags and place the pitcher in the fridge to keep cool. I love that my pitcher has a spout on it so I can easily fill up my glass jar on my way out the door for work.
I love that Zing™ Zero Calorie Stevia Sweetener is made with only real ingredients—nothing artificial and it doesn’t leave you with a funny aftertaste. It’s made with stevia leaf extract so there’s no worries or concerns with harsh, harmful chemicals! Hooray!
