This is what Sundays look like in our house in words. I just love Sundays– especially Sundays in the fall. There’s always football on TV, a crock-pot full of something delicious, the house is clean after a weekend full of chores and candles are always burning. It’s just a day full of rest, relaxation and appreciation for our family and all of the things that we have. I just love Sundays!
From Where I Stand… I see a little girl with markers, construction paper and artsy fartsy stuff spread out in the living room with the Ninja Turtles on TV, but she’s too busy dancing around with her blanket cape on to notice me standing here.
From Where I Stand… I see the house is clean, the dishes are done, and I can hear the laundry tumbling in the dryer downstairs.
From Where I Stand… I see a supportive husband peeking in the kitchen window, scaring me every chance he gets while I’m shaking my booty to whatever country song is playing on my bluetooth speaker. He’s outside cleaning up the deck and getting everything prepped for ::gasp:: whenever the snow decides to fly.
From Where I Stand… I see a pot full of chili simmering away on the stove filling the house with a spicy, warm aroma. I can’t wait to eat a bowl of it with crunched up saltine crackers and a big glass of milk.
From Where I Stand… I see a fridge full of Kindergarten worksheets, ABC and 123 magnets and artwork from Alea. I remember I always put my best assignments on the refrigerator growing up and I’ve always wanted to do the same with Alea, too.
From Where I Stand… I see clothes laid out and ready to go for the week, I see a planner laid out with what lies ahead for each day including school events, work notes and what’s for dinner each day. There’s just something about being thoroughly prepared for the week, isn’t there?
I stand by my original statement. Sundays have to be one of my favorite days of the week.
What do you see from where you stand?
