One of my most treasured memories from my childhood is playing cards at the kitchen table with my Great Grandma. She taught me just about any and every card game you can play with a deck of playing cards and I would even tag along with her to play cards at her friend’s houses as well. In addition to playing cards with my Grandma, I always looked forward to family game nights with my parents and younger brother. We would play various board games and we would have an absolute blast. Lots of laughter and feelings of togetherness during those family game nights and now that my parents are divorced, those moments and memories mean even more now.
Just recently we started to “enforce” more family game nights around our house. Alea is getting to that age where board games are just about the best thing ever. She has quite the competitive spirit, though, and doesn’t lose so gracefully. The one game that brings out the most laughter and Alea doesn’t mind losing is the Pie Face game by Hasbro. All you need in addition to the game, is a can of Reddi-Wip and a rag to clean off!
The game is pretty simple. You flick the spinner and whichever number it lands on, is the number of clicks you must turn the crank. After so many clicks, the crank will trigger the whipped cream to fly up in that person’s face! It’s such a simple concept and induces the most laughs and giggles I think I’ve ever experienced during a family game night!
I can’t wait to break this game out for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year! It’s a winner, for sure! Just check out this video:
Pure joy, that’s for sure!
