Thinking about: What’s to come for our little family. We have big plans to build a home this year and I’m getting a little nervous for the work, time, and cost of it all. 2016 is going to be a really big year for us and it’s so exciting to think of what’s ahead.
Loving: I’m currently loving adult coloring, my new Erin Condren planner, chaipuccinos from Moka, and Stress Away essential oil. I’ve started coloring in adult coloring books and I just love the relaxation it provides. Those kids are smart, let me tell ya! I’ve also switched over to the horizontal Erin Condren planner after almost switching planner brands again. The last time I did so, I really regretted it, so I decided to try the horizontal layout and I’m absolutely loving it! It’s so much more functional for me and I love the lines. I’ve also started putting about 4 drops of Stress Away essential oil on a cotton ball and putting it on the vent in my car. I practice deep breathing and relaxation on my way to and from work and it’s really helped me to better manage the inevitable stress that comes along with working as a registered nurse.
Reading: My two best friends, Emma and Bobbi and I decided that we were all going to read a book and do a Skype book club. However, we’re like months past the original deadline we gave ourselves to finish the book and I still have yet to finish the darn thing. We’re reading Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar. I love that each letter is different and I absolutely love the advice that Cheryl Strayed (also author of Wild) dishes out to each person writing into her.
Watching: Cory and I have been watching House, MD on Netflix every night for quite sometime now. If you haven’t watched it yet, you’ve got to add it to your list! I’ve also loved watching Fixer Upper lately. Except, it makes me want to buy a completely run down home and fix it up… without anywhere near as much talent as Chip and Joanna have! Maybe not the greatest influence, but such an incredible show!
Listening to: I’ve become obsessed with listening to podcasts on my way to work this past year. I’m working my way through Boss Girl Creative, Jess Lively and Beat Infertility. All of which are so, so well done and great to listen to!
What’s going on for you lately?
Podcasts are the best. They offer a lot of information and are so convenient to listen too. I love listening when I get ready in the morning or the commute in to work.
A Skype book club is such a great idea! I would love to do that with my friends.
Podcasts are awesome for dishes and laundry – it puts some brain back in the brainless activities of life 🙂
LOVE fixer upper. We are also dreaming of our new home in 2016, a big year for sure!
I really like House MD (any medical show, really). And Chip and Joanna are so cute they actually have a lot of people thinking about moving to Waco! 😀
Adding House to my list..I’m always looking for new shows!
Isn’t it amazing how the adult coloring books have really taken off this year? I played in a white elephant gift exchange game and I had that as a gift, but it got stolen away from me during the game! Thinking I should go out and get one for myself 🙂
