Kindergarten has completely transformed my child. I know that sounds like a very bold statement, but she’s become such a smart young lady in just a few short months. I always knew she would do well in school. She just has this love of learning that’s almost contagious. I’m amazed with how much she’s learned, but I’m also amazed with how much she’s come out of her shell.
The first couple of weeks, Cory and I were a little worried about her socialization. She would tell Cory and I that she played on the playground at recess by herself and that she didn’t play with any friends she had made during free choice time. It made us a little nervous that she wasn’t socializing with her friends, especially considering she’s an only child and doesn’t really get that interaction with another child at home.
She’s totally and completely come out of her shell, though. I first noticed at her Christmas program for daycare. She literally sang her heart out on that stage and I’ve never seen her so alive! It was simply amazing that she had not one ounce of stage fright and she just shone!
I have a feeling we’re going to be going to lots of plays, concerts and dance recitals in the future!
And just a little bonus with this silly photo! Yep, Alea, that face is just absolutely priceless! This face expresses exactly how I feel about bills, Monday’s and shaving my legs. Just ain’t happening!
Joking aside, this year is Alea’s year to shine, let me tell ya! I can feel it!
