Remember when I said that one of my goals for 2016 was to buy a house? Well, we’ve been having a blast looking at houses. It’s been pretty slim-pickings considering the very small area that we would like to buy in so Alea can stay in the same school district and so we don’t make my commute any farther than it already is, but there’s been some cute ones and some doozies as well. The first house we looked at, I was ready to sign the papers right then and there, but then we discovered the house had a wood foundation. Who puts in a wood foundation?! It was remodeled, ready to go, and we had to walk away from it. If you can’t tell, I’m still a little bit heart broken.
We’ve looked at a few others that need a little bit more tender loving care, but I have always had such a hard time envisioning what could be when I’m looking at space that isn’t very aesthetically pleasing. Cory, on the other hand, can always erase what he sees in front of him and gauge what we can and cannot do. I’ve always been so thankful for his vision, but sometimes it helps to have a little vision of my own, you know?
Enter: My Floor Style.
Ever since I discovered this awesome app, I’ve been snapping photos of the houses we’ve looked at and tried out different flooring. I mean, let’s face it, once you remove that stained or out-of-date carpeting, it’s so much easier to envision different wall colors or trim colors as well! All you do is upload a photo of the room/flooring you’d like to replace. Select the floor and change it up! It’s really that simple.
And can we just talk about how gorgeous the Downs H20 flooring is? It’s virtually waterproof vinyl plank flooring that looks just like hardwood! Making it perfect for bathrooms, laundry rooms and for homes of pet owners as well! I think we need this flooring in our future home… for sure!
How do you visualize a space?
Are you like me and struggle or are you able to envision more?
