Just the other day, Alea came to me and seemed a little stressed out. (Especially stressed for a five-year-old I should say.) She told me, “Mom, I just don’t know what I want to be when I grow-up! I want to be a singer on The Voice, but I also want to be a writer!” It just makes me giggle to see her little inner struggle with what she wants to do with her life at such a young age. She’s such a strong-willed, determined little girl, so I have no doubt that whatever she decides to do, she’ll do it with al of her heart.
As a mom, there’s nothing I want and try to do more than encourage my little dreamer to follow her dreams– even if they seem far-fetched and even if they change on a daily basis. The one thing I love about Disney Princesses is that they all work through their struggles to work towards their passions and their dreams and if there’s anyone Alea looks up to– it’s definitely her favorite Disney Princesses. Whenever she’s complaining of being “bored” or looking for something to do, I always direct her towards crafts to fuel her creative side or towards her Disney Princess toys from Toys “R” Us (I mean have you seen their Disney Princess aisle?) to encourage her to use her imagination and inspire her to pursue her dreams! I don’t know about your little girl, but Alea will play with her princess toys for hours on end!
1. Aluminum foil
2. A ball
3. Empty toilet paper roll
4. Black + White construction paper
7. Glue stick
(Use the step-by-step photos above for reference)
1. Measure out the black construction paper so you have enough to cover the entire toilet paper tube.
2. Wrap the black construction paper around the toilet paper tube and tape or glue in place.
3. Cut out a small white rectangle and a smaller black rectangle. This will be the on/off switch for the microphone. Glue this into place in the center of the front of the microphone.
4. Wrap ball in aluminum foil.
5. Secure the ball in place by pinching the tin foil around the rim of the toilet paper tube.
And don’t forget to use your microphone to sing all of your favorite Disney Princess songs!
Whenever Alea plays with her new Disney Princess Royal Shimmer Dolls (they come in the following 11 princesses: Jasmine, Ariel, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Belle, Aurora, Merida, and Snow White) now she always has to have her microphone in hand so she can sing songs from each princesses’s movie. Each doll has super cute removable shoes and the most beautiful, sparkly gown! And you better believe she sings “Under the Sea” and “Kiss the Girl when she’s playing with her Little Kingdom Ariel’s Sea Castle– it includes the cutest little Ariel and lots of fun snap-in decorations to decorate the castle and Arie and her hair.
Can you tell I’m just slightly excited about these toys? It’s like re-living my childhood all over again having a sweet little girl to play princesses with!
