I’ve been thinking a lot about “pampering” lately and how maybe, just maybe, I need to make more time to do this for myself. Sure, I have my lazy days and enjoy relaxing and just snuggling my loves, but sometimes you need to be intentional with yourself and treat yourself to a little TLC. This is something I know us mamas don’t do enough of.
Since becoming pregnant (head over here if you missed our announcement) I’ve been completely and utterly exhausted and nauseated. I’m incredibly thankful for this pregnancy every single second of every single day, but boy is it hard to get anything done when ya just feel like taking a nap while simultaneously eating saltines! Now that I’m starting to get a little bit of my energy back, I’m trying to keep myself pampered, relaxed, and happy during this pregnancy. I’ve partnered with Dove to tell you all about their New Dove Dry Oil Collection featuring their Dove Dry Oil Beauty Bar and Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash! Here are 5 ways I’m remember to pamper myself during this pregnancy!
one | Keeping My Skin Soft: I’ve been religiously using the new Dove Dry Oil Collection for the past couple of months. The body wash and beauty bar are enriched with Moroccan Argan Oil beads that gently cleanse while also replenishing the skin with nutrients. My skin has felt so much softer since I started using these! Because 9 in 10 women are concerned about having dry skin, Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash goes beyond basic moisturizing to help women nourish and protect their dry skin.
two | Bubble Baths: Is there anything more relaxing than a bubble bath? I think not. End of discussion.
three | Essential Oils: When it comes to pampering myself, I never take a bath with lighted candles anymore. The flickering of the candlelight is relaxing, but I’m not loving the chemicals that are in candles these days. Instead, I diffuse lavender and spearmint– my favorite essential oil combo– and inhale and exhale my way to relaxation.
four | Honey Salt Foot Scrub: This is the easiest thing you could whip up to care for those feet of yours! I know mine could use a little extra TLC after the dry winter months, that’s for sure! All you need is some raw honey, some epsom salts, and a few of your favorite essential oils. (I use lavender and frankincense for all things beauty!) I use 2 cups of epsom salts, mix in 4 tsp of honey, and add 3 drops of each essential oil. Stir together and scrub all over your heals and rough patches on your feet. Rinse off and then wash with the Dove Dry Oil Body Wash… perfection!
five | Coconut Oil Belly Butter: To help prevent stretch marks, I’ve mixed up a concoction of coconut oil, shea butter, and frankincense and lavender essential oil to massage onto my back, butt, and belly everyday twice a day! I had very minimal stretch marks when I was pregnant with Alea, so I intend to be very diligent in *hopefully* preventing them this time around as well.
And some future pampering plans of mine? I desperately need to get rid of these dreaded split ends of mien and freshen up my hair color. I really loved the ombre look I had going on last year, but I’m trying to think of something a little more fun. If you have ideas, I’d love it so much if you let me know! I’d also love to treat myself to a manicure and a pedicure. I don’t remember the last time I did that! And down the road when my back is aching from my growing belly, I’d love to get a prenatal massage. I had one when I was 8 months pregnant with Alea and it was absolutely divine!
How do you take time to pamper yourself?
I lOVE your all posts. Thanks.
