On Wednesday night, Alea asked me if we could paint after I picked her up from school on my day off. How could I say no to that? I told her it would be even better if we painted outside since it was going to be nice outside and it would help keep the mess under control. The day arrived and we decided that we would head to grab some ice cream before heading home for our painting date. You know, just to make our day a little more special.
I pride myself in *making the moment* and feel like I haven’t been doing enough of that with Alea lately. I always seem to use the “busy” word as an excuse, but I wanted to make this extra special for her. We took her easel outside and she taught me about a painting technique she learned in art class and even painted a portrait of me.
We served up a couple glasses of Silk’s new Nutcello! It’s a dairy free nut milk that comes in a couple different delicious flavors. I serve mine either over ice or mixed with chai concentrate for a little extra boost! It’s so smooth, so refreshing and not overly sweet. Alea likes the rich dark chocolate and walnuts flavor and my personal favorite is the caramel almonds and cashews flavor… mmmmm!
I’m so thankful for the delicious treats, the big backyard we have to spend time in, and everything else in between. After spending the afternoon outside and watching Alea come alive while she was painting and while we were giggling together, it just makes me more and more excited for many more afternoons and evenings playing outside in our backyard!
Really, having a big backyard is great and all, but let’s face it…
She’s my happy place. Silk Nutcello just makes it a little sweeter.
