I don’t know how this spring has been for you and your family, but for us it’s been Busy with a capital “B”. I mean, it’s not like we haven’t had anything crazy going on or anything, right? Between moving to a new house, finding out we’re expecting baby number two, Alea’s activities, Alea’s birthday, Cory’s real estate business, Cory coaching baseball, and my full-time job as a nurse — we have had just a little bit going on here and there! Ha!
Despite the hustle and bustle and the busyness of this season of our lives, I’ve been trying to stay as productive as possible. More house means more house to clean and I’ve been slowly getting back in the swing of things with this here blog, so when I’m home from work, I try and keep on working.
I just can’t help it! It may seem odd and a bit counterproductive, but my biggest secret to staying productive?
one | Eat a Snack: Sometimes I eat while I work, but I enjoy my snack so much more when I actually step away from my computer to eat it. Stepping away from the task at hand for a minute or two to enjoy a cup of Café Breaks Caramel Latte pudding or Café Breaks Mocha Latte pudding is just the way to do it, too. Trust me! It’s an inexpensive snack that won’t break the bank, but it’s also 100 calories or less per cup, so it’s well within your calorie allowance for a snack! They’re so decadent and delicious, though, you won’t even be able to tell they’re 100 calories! Find yours at Walmart in the snack aisle and don’t forget to bring this coupon!
two | Take a Walk: You wouldn’t think it, but working in the clinic as a nurse, we do a lot of sitting at a computer. It’s almost exhausting just sitting there, as silly as that sounds. I try hard to take just a few minutes to get up from my chair and go for a quick walk around the department. Even if it’s just for a bathroom break!
three | Check Something Off Your List: Since the name of the game is “productivity” you can always “reward” yourself with checking a task off of your to do list. Quick pay a bill or throw in a load of laundry. Just switching gears for a moment will help those gears spin a little faster when it’s time to get back to work.
Trust me, friends. A break will not only make you more productive in your work, but it will also make you feel a little more sane… and that’s worth it’s weight in gold in and of itself! And trust me when I say, taking a quick break with a Café Breaks pudding will make all the difference in your day!
What do you do when you take a break?
