The very night after we found out we were having another baby girl, I was immediately sitting in the middle of the living room with bins of newborn baby girl clothes sprawled out around me. I just couldn’t wait to sort through Alea’s sweet little baby clothes. We saved literally everything from her baby days and I couldn’t be happier that we did. We’re saving oodles of money on baby clothes and I love reminiscing and remembering when Alea wore each little onesie and who she got each little thing from. I’m so happy that we’ll have another sweet little girl to make memories with in the very same clothes!
However, along with taking baby clothes out of storage– 6 years of storage mind you– comes an awful lot of laundry! I didn’t think of it right away, but baby laundry is especially important and requires special care, as well.
Today I’m talking about how I carefully care for our baby’s laundry and offer up tips to washing baby’s clothes. IF you have any further tips, I’d love to hear them as well!
Pick a Gentle Detergent: Baby’s skin, especially a newborn baby’s skin is very sensitive and sensitivity may increase when certain harsh detergents are used. Tide purclean™ is my choice for a gentle laundry detergent and I love the light lavender scent of this one.
Pick a Serious Stain Remover: Tide purclean™ doubles as an intense stain fighter– which is perfect when it comes to baby stains from diaper blow outs and baby spit-up stains. Those are all too common in those fresh newborn days! Ahh the joys! When in doubt, pre-treat the stain by rinsing and soaking in cool water.
Pick an Eco-Friendly Detergent: An eco-friendly laundry detergent? I know it sounds silly, but Tide purclean™ is eco-friendly! This new formula is made with 100% wind power electricity, it’s made at a zero manufacturing waste to landfill site, and the bottle itself is 100% recyclable. Can’t argue with that! With a new baby I know we’ll be doing way more laundry and knowing we’re helping to reduce our carbon footprint by using this detergent helps give me peace of mind. Tide purclean™ is a greener alternative that’s so much better for our environment!
And good thing I have such a cute little helper to help me with the mountains of baby laundry I have to do before baby sister is born! Hopefully she’ll be just as willing to help out with the laundry after baby sister is born, too! Time will only tell!
