I never remember needing a whole lot during my pregnancy with Alea. I didn’t know about all those crazy pregnancy pillows, secret little contraptions to help with nausea, and I sure don’t remember hearing of or seeing maternity support tanks. Then again, I feel like this time around there’s about 10,000 more baby products on the market, too!
It’s almost overwhelming how many things they have that they advertise every expecting mama “needs” and it’s so hard to decide what is really actually a necessity. You know what I mean?
There have been a few great finds that I’ve discovered this pregnancy that I’m so excited to share with you pregnant mamas who stumble upon this post! They’re truly a few of my absolute must-haves and favorites and I hope that you’ll find this list helpful as well. Whether you’re currently expecting, have had babies in the past or are trying to conceive, I hope you’ll share your must have items with me as well!
one | Liz Lange Maternity Jeans
These Liz Lange Maternity Jeans are my absolute favorite. I love that they just have the side panels and they fit right under my belly. I also love that they’re skinny jeans and all the wholes and patches are kinda fun! Not something you’d expect from maternity jeans, anyways!
two | Blanqi Maternity Support Tank
This tank-top is something special, let me tell ya. I’ve talked about my back pain with pregnancy on the blog before, and this Blanqi Maternity Support Tank has been helpful with that. I wear it everyday to work and feel that it’s very helpful in supporting my belly and in turn, my back doesn’t seem to hurt as bad. It’s amazing!
three | Quease Ease
I experienced nausea and vomiting all the way up until 22 or 23 weeks pregnant. It was miserable. I felt that carrying this Quease Ease stick around was extremely helpful. It’s an essential oil stick that contains peppermint, ginger, and a couple other oils to help calm the feeling of nausea. It’s saved me on more than one occasion at work and when I’ve been on-the-go!
four | Burts Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter
I know that stretch marks have a lot to do with genetics and lotions and balms can’t fully prevent them, but trust me, you’re belly will feel so much better with this moisturizing lotion on it. This Burts Bees Belly Balm is like a thick lotion, but it doesn’t leave your belly feeling greasy and gross.
five | Life Factory Water Bottle
I drink water all day long as it is, but with this pregnancy I feel like I can never get enough water. I’m always carrying this Life Factory water bottle around with me. I love that it’s glass, too, so I don’t have to worry about the chemicals from plastic leaching into my ice water.
six | Honest Co. Organic Belly Balm
When my belly is at it’s itchiest or when I get out of the shower, I’m always slathering this Honest Co. Organic Belly balm all over my belly and hips. This stuff is a little more oily than the Burts Bees one I talked about above, but it really helps to moisturize when my poor stretched skin needs it the most.
seven | Tide To Go Stick
I’m forever dripping and spilling things on my belly. It’s like it’s a giant magnet to droplets of coffee or any food from my breakfast or lunch. It’s almost a daily occurrence at this point, I’m afraid. I’ve learned to always carry a Tide To Go Stick in my work bag and purse so I have one with me at all times. If it weren’t for this nifty little thing, I would’ve ruined so many of my maternity tops by now and they’re NOT cheap!
One item that’s not on this list that I really wish I would’ve invested in sooner is maternity pillow! I’m getting more and more uncomfortable and sleeping is becoming a little bit more difficult, even though we have an extremely comfortable bed. Having a nice pillow to wrap around my body and to support my growing belly sounds like absolute heaven! It’s just so hard to justify spending the money on it now that I only have 10ish weeks left to go! It would’ve been well worth the money if I would’ve purchased one sooner, though, I have no doubt!
