I think I won the lottery when that smiling little face above came into my life over 6 years ago. She’s just the kindest, most caring, snuggliest little girl I’ve ever met. She always saying “I love you mama” or “I love you dada” and running up to us to give us a hug at any given moment in the day. I’m so lucky to be loved by such a sweet, sassy, little munchkin!
And I’m even more lucky that she’s taken this soon-to-be “big sister” role with nothing but complete and utter excitement. Sure, she’s a little naive to the crying, the late nights for mom and dad, and that she won’t be getting 100% of our undivided attention day in and day out, but even so, I think she’ll take that in stride and surprise us with how well she does during this time of transition in our life.
I think her favorite part about preparing for “baby sissy’s” arrival (as she likes to call her… when she’s not calling her ‘pineapple’) has been getting the nursery ready and picking-out baby clothes. I can’t take her into a store without her being immediately drawn to the baby clothes and hearing the “oohs” and “ahhs” about how cute everything is! “We have to buy this for little sissy!” — is the phrase heard most often and more often than not I’m happy to oblige. 😉
We just recently stumbled upon the adorable clothes available from Burts Bees clothing line and I’ve been swooning ever since. All the little bees, the 100% organic cotton, the durable designs, and the softness of the fabrics make them an absolute closet staple for my biggest little and my littlest little! You better believe Alea picked-out the pink tunic and floral leggings for herself so we could get baby sissy a matching pair! I gotta say, I like the way she thinks!
She’s excited to wear her Burts Bees outfit to school because it’s so incredibly comfortable and I can’t wait for her to wear it to school because it’s completely adorable, too! I think we’ll most certainly be back shopping on their site real soon!
I have to admit, though, I’m even more excited to see her wear that outfit along with her little sissy. After trying to give her a baby brother or a baby sister for 2 and 1/2 years, it seems so surreal that we’re buying matching clothes and “little sister” and “big sister” t-shirts. I’m so unbelievably grateful and feel so very blessed.
