This blog post is brought to you by VTech and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.
To say the whole “nesting” thing has kicked in is the understatement of the year. Where was this energy when we moved into our new house in March? It certainly would’ve come in handy unpacking mountains of boxes and getting everything put together a little quicker. Nevertheless, this burst of energy has been quite useful in getting my usual weekend chores done and also getting the nursery in order.
And I must say, I’m starting to really, really love how our nursery is turning out. I think it just might turn out like I envisioned!
This little corner is my absolute favorite little spot. That rocking chair is the same chair I spent hours upon hours rocking Alea to sleep in, nursing her, reading little board books to her, and singing her sweet lullabies. I’m so very thankful that this treasure survived 3+ moves. It may not be the most “in style” or “on trend” but the memories that have been made in this chair mean the world to me. I can’t wait to rock our sweet little pumpkin in this very same chair!
I picked-up that table at TJ Maxx the other day for a great deal. It practically jumped out at me and goes perfectly with our coral and navy theme we’ve got going on. Those pillows, that blanket in the basket, and the comforter on the foot rest? Those were all made by my incredibly talented friend, Jennifer! She has a sweet little Etsy shop called Monster + Dot and sells the sweetest baby things.
Many, many more details to come in this sweet little nursery. I’m looking forward to decorating the nursery with lots more Etsy finds and hopefully finding the missing pieces to the crib we have that was also Alea’s. Wish us luck on that endeavor, because I’m really hoping we don’t have to buy a brand new crib! Yikes!
One of my favorite techie baby things we have in the nursery is the Vtech Safe&Sound® DM271-110 DECT 6.0 Digital Audio Baby Monitor with Open/Closed & Motion Sensors. This is the monitor of all monitors, my friends! What you see pictured above is the unit that goes in the baby’s nursery. The top is a projector that projects a space scene onto the ceiling with a control that’s easily accessed from the front of the monitor or from the parent’s unit. By pressing this same button, you can also turn on lullabies and the volume buttons are self-explanatory. Doesn’t it just look so chic, too?
The parent unit of the The VTech Digital Audio Monitor or DM271-110 has an extended battery life and a great distance range (1000ft total), so you can take it out in the backyard with you if needed while baby’s napping and your other little is begging to go play outside. I love that with the touch of a button, you can talk directly into baby’s room, too. This is perfect for calming baby when you need a couple extra seconds to get across the house or upstairs. You can also turn on lullabies from this unit as well as the ceiling lights display!
And the best part about this monitor system as a whole? It’s made to grow with your child! It also has a motion sensor you can utilize when baby’s little, too, to let you know if there’s an intruder and it also has a door/window magnet sensor so it will alert the parent unit if that specific door or window is opened. They’ll also come in handy when baby becomes more mobile and starts exploring the house a little. You can put the motion sensor in “off limits” parts of the house and also on cabinet doors you don’t want baby to go into! Cory and I joke (but in a serious way) that it’ll be so nice to have that around when Alea gets older. No sneaking out of the house for that stinker! Gotta love modern technology, right?
What do you look for in a baby monitor?
