This post is in collaboration with Gymboree. I was provided with items to review as well as compensation for this post. All opinions are my own.
We thought we were completely set when we found out we were having a baby girl this time around, too. Even though Cory gave me a hard time for it, I’ve literally kept every except for the crib mattress from when Alea was a baby. All of our big items (the swing, pack n’ play, bouncy chair) were pink so I almost breathed a sigh of relief that we didn’t have to find boy-friendly versions of those things. We’ve replaced a few things that were a little more worn than we thought and bought a few extra, shiny, new things for baby girl. She deserves more than just hand-me-downs, in my opinion!
In addition to all of those baby necessities, I also kept basically every item of clothing that Alea ever wore. I kid you not. I had to sort through everything and throw away a few things that had stains because I decided to keep those pieces too for some crazy reason.
As I was going through her clothes and getting things ready to be washed in preparation for this baby, I noticed pretty quickly that there’s a big difference in the clothes you need for an April baby and the clothes you need for an October (possibly November) baby.
As soon as I started pulling out 3 months to 6 months clothing I realized that I was going to have to do a little shopping. (Aw shucks, right?) When Alea was 3 months old it was summer and when this baby is going to be 3 months old, it’ll be the dead of winter! So those shorts, rompers, and short-sleeved onesies just aren’t going to cut it this time around. (Do note, I did save them for baby number three, should we decide to try for one more!)
I was so very happy to see the adorable selection of comfy and warm baby clothes available at Gymboree for the coming cool (okay freezing cold) season! Baby sissy will be kept warm in the cutest clothes with the cutest finishing details. I’m all about ears on just about everything and I can’t get over the little bear ears on that little owl hoodie and the little ears on the owl hat. She’ll be kept warm and cozy swaddled in that forest blanket snuggled up next to her little giraffe lovey as well.
It just warms my heart just thinking about it. I can’t believe we’re really going to get our happy ending in a matter of weeks! We’ve waited so, so very long for this!
