Nintendo of America provided me with a New Nintendo 3DS XL system and games for review. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
Intentional time with Alea has become a huge priority for Cory and I. The last thing we want is for her to feel left out or forgotten with a new baby in the house. So far, we haven’t noticed a whole lot of jealousy and she’s usually very eager to help with Mckenna. We are so very thankful for that, but also want to make sure that we stay on top of things and make sure we’re spending meaningful time with her whenever possible.
Most recently, we’ve all come to love this awesome new Nintendo 3DS™ XL gadget.
I’m pretty impressed with how Alea’s drawing and coloring skills have improved with the use of the Disney Art Academy game. She’s drawing Disney characters like nobody’s business, ya’ll! This game is so fun and it takes her step by step through the process of drawing characters like Dory and her favorite Disney Princesses. Heck, she does a way better job than me, even!
The game that we’re all enjoying the most, though? Kirby Planet Robobot! Oh my gosh! This brings me right back to my Mario and Donkey Kong days on the classic Nintendo system. It’s so fun! It’s so cute to see Cory and Alea curled up on the couch together beating “the bosses” and giggling over the silly things that Kirby turns into throughout the game.
We try to limit screen time around our house and do so with the Nintendo as well as the iPad and the TV, but we have been letting Alea have a little extra screen time when it’s spent playing that silly Kirby game with us! It’s like a special treat at the end of a long school day and our Nintendo snuggles are just the best!
This year I’ve been pretty good about getting my Christmas shopping done. I still have 1 person left to buy for, but that’s just a matter of completing the check out process in my Amazon account! Cory, on the other hand, still hasn’t done any of his shopping. Thank goodness I’m in charge of shopping for the girls, right? Yikes!
And don’t tell Alea, but Mckenna bought her a couple more Nintendo DS games for Christmas! She’s going to be OVER THE MOON excited and maybe Cory and I are a little excited to play them with her, too!
Where was this thing when I was a kid?
Are you a last minute Christmas shopper?
Or do you already have all of your Christmas shopping done?
