Back to school means back to packing lunches and snacks and ya’ll, if I’m just being honest, I’m not excited about it. Cory’s in charge of school drop off and getting Mckenna to daycare in the morning, so he certainly does a majority of the work, but I try to help him where I can and that means I get to pack Alea’s lunch and snack every morning she’s not feeling whatever’s on the menu at school. (Which is all too often with our picky little girl!) I have found one solid way to make my job a little easier with Alea’s help. Because I’m definitely all about working smarter and not harder whenever possible! Saving time, energy, and reducing my lunch-packing stress is cause for celebration, would you think? I’ll explain later, but for now I have 6 words for you: Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie!
The most frequent complaint I get when it comes time to pick-out lunch and snack times is, “there’s nothing to eat.” (Insert eye roll here!) But in a sense, I sort of get it. When there’s just random things piled into the pantry it’s hard to decipher which is lunch or snack worthy.
I found a way to make it oh so much easier!
When I go grocery shopping, I empty the snacks that I purchase, like the delicious Lance crackers or I’ll pop a bag of Pop Secret Kettle Corn and divide it out into snack bags. I purchased some fabric bins from Walmart for our pantry. I just dump the snacks in there so they’re easy to grab and toss in a lunch box or backpack! It’s really as easy as that. We do the same with a plastic container in the fridge for snacks that need to be kept cold!
I love having Lance crackers on hand because I know that they’re made with real cheese and real peanut butter and they’re a good wholesome, filling, and portable snack for her when she’s busy learning away at school! Plus, yum!
It may seem simple and silly, but I promise you if you start to use this trick as well, your lunch and snack packing stress will decrease significantly!
And now onto Captain Underpants! Alea’s read one of the books at school and when I told her Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie was coming out on DVD she was all about it! We’ll be grabbing our copy at Walmart and grabbing some Lance crackers and PopSecret popcorn for her to snack on during the movie! We love the great butter taste and that it contains better ingredients! And Captain Underpants is truly the perfect family-friendly comedy full of heart, humor and a fabulous friendship between Harold and George!
The Captain Underpants DVD will be available in Walmart stores 9/12! Be sure to reserve your copy now by pre-ordering today! While supplies last.
